01 · Shipping abroad

How your enclosure travels

  2. We build and ship itMade to order, from one piece, and shipped direct to your site.
  3. Customs and deliveryThe carrier or your broker clears it and delivers to your door; import charges are collected on delivery.

Parcel sizes

Live rates at checkout

Most sizes ship as a parcel. Checkout shows live UPS Worldwide and DHL Express rates for your address, before you pay. Each product page lists the packed shipping weight.

If checkout does not offer your country, request a quote and we ship it on a quoted order.

Freight sizes

Crated, on a quoted order

The largest sizes are over parcel limits and travel crated on a pallet; their product page says "crated on a pallet for LTL freight". Checkout covers those for the contiguous US only. To any other country they ship by air, ocean or LTL freight on a quoted order.

On a freight-size product page, "ask for a freight quote" opens the quote form with your country filled in.

02 · Duties and taxes

Import charges are paid on delivery (DAP)

Prices exclude import duties, VAT/GST and customs brokerage, which are the buyer's responsibility and are collected by the carrier or broker on delivery.

Duty rates depend on your country and the goods' origin; please confirm with your broker. Tariff classification of enclosures varies by country, so we cannot guarantee a duty amount.

03 · Documents

The paperwork that goes with your order

  • Commercial invoiceWith the HS code and the country of origin, for your customs entry.
  • Packing listWhat is in each carton or crate.
  • Certificate of originOn request: ask for it with your quote or order.

Does your project need more, such as a material certificate (EN 10204 3.1), an inspection report or a country import certificate? Tick it under "Documents or certifications your project requires" in the quote form, the enclosure builder or the cutout designer. Your quote states which documents we can provide, which need third-party testing or approval, and the cost and lead time of each.

04 · Ratings

IP66 first, NEMA 4X as the US designation

The IEC code: dust-tight (6) and protected against powerful water jets (6). See the IP rating chart.

NEMA 4XUS designation

The US enclosure Type (NEMA 250): indoor or outdoor, hose-directed water, external ice, plus corrosion resistance. See NEMA 4 vs 4X vs IP66.

"It is not possible to state that an IP degree rating is equivalent to a NEMA Type designation ... a NEMA Type rating meets or exceeds an IP degree rating."

Both ratings are the manufacturer's; the enclosures are not UL listed. HMI housings have an IP65-type front seal with the display installed. Once cutouts are added, the rating of the finished enclosure depends on properly rated components and cable glands in every opening. If your market needs a particular declaration or approval, name it in your quote request and we tell you what we can provide.

05 · Units

Millimetres

Every product page gives the size in millimetres as well as inches. The enclosure builder and the cutout designer switch between mm and inches, and you can send your drawing in millimetres.

06 · Prices and payment

US dollars

Prices are in US dollars (USD). Pay by card on the secure Industrial Monitor Direct checkout, where a 3% card processing fee is added, or order on a formal quote and invoice. See Purchasing & AP.

Send the size, material, cutouts and your ship-to country, and tick the documents or certifications your project requires. We reply by email, usually within one business day, with a quote that covers delivery to your site.
